3 quick tips for the new Twitter profile

It must be rocket science!

Everyone has changed their profile to have a big image and you haven’t!

They must be those computer geniuses that can code, click and surf in their sleep!

No, it’s easy peasy. And I will show you how and what to think about when choosing your image.

New profile layout

The new profile page set up means you can now create a more exciting and image rich welcome page. They have also given you a little picture gallery so the latest images you have tweeted will appear (great unless it was 3 koalas and a penguin like mine. Don’t ask!)

Old….

And new…

For those who have a more serious approach to Twitter this is great way to manage the images you want customers, suppliers and leads to see when they come and have a look at your profile.

The header image now serves as a backdrop for all your profile info, name, website, and short bio.

GettinStarted

To add a header image simply go to settings, profile and header image and select your image. You can choose pretty much anything you like as long as the image is not too big.

Think about how your Facebook cover image works with your Facebook profile image to kick-start your ideas on images the image is not too big. Twitter will show you how it will look, you can pull it about abit to get it just where you want it and voila! It is done.

Maximise the opportunity

While you are their fiddling around with your Twitter profile have a think not only about the image that you are going to use but what you want to say. This is a great time to maximise the information you give out in your Twitter bio, some ideas to consider

1. Use an image and mention your latest blog  (is that how you found this?)

2. Promote an event that is coming up.

3. Talk about any special offers you may have on.

4. Mention the #hashtags your following, or conversations you’ve started

Get Creative

You could use an image that has your profile pick in the middle, or create a tiled image to show more off what you have on offer! Now that is fancy!
