Terry Bridgewater of Chemring PLC invited us to a charity day supporting help for heroes a couple of weeks ago at Sandown Park racecourse. I’d never been horse racing before so didn’t really know what to expect but I’m pleased to say that it was really brilliant fun!
We installed and now maintain a customised instance of our Clearwater system (http://www.environment-health-safety.com/) for Terry so it was really generous of him to invite us, as a supplier, for a grand day out!
Have to say, highlight of the day for me was meeting War Horse. (we’re big Michael Morpurgo fans in our house!)
On March 29th 2012 a team from Urban Element will be taking part in a Fire & Ice Walk organised by local charity Special Effect.
Jon Ellard will be joined by our web designers Mark & Sasha and our Creative Director Malcolm as they walk over hot coals and broken glass in Market Square, Witney alongside other local companies including the Shake Shop, STL Communications and Witney Rotary.
Special Effect develop technology and video games to help children and adults that have disabilities. They adapt games and special controllers that allow people with a range of disabilities to play computer games in their own homes that can have a positive impact on their wellbeing and quality of life.
We would love you to come down to support (and laugh at!). The evening starts at 17:45 and the timing for the evening is as follows:
17:45 - Glass walk training
18:45 - Glass walk in Market Square
20:45 - Fire is lit
21:15 - Fire walk in Market Square
We hope to see you there! If you would like to donate to the charity, you can do this through our Just Giving page.
For more details on the walk, please visit the Special Effect website or watch the video on WitneyTV.
